中文的報告中，「因為....所以」、「為了....因而」是很常見的句型。然而在英文寫作上，如果把同一段落中所有的因果關係都明白的表達出來，恐怕有再多'due to'的同義詞都不夠用。是故，我會看到

due to

because of

in response to

as the result of

as...

to....(so sb did something)....

resulted in

用連接詞讓文章的脈絡更清楚，並沒有什麼不好。但是，如果文章中時常出現這類的句子，讀起來就有點累了。尤其是中文慣常把許多的因素灌壓在同一個句子當中，因為所以然後拉得落落長，中文程度好的人當然沒問題，專業能力夠強的人也沒問題，然而要把此等複雜的結構複製為英文，就有點難為小翻譯了。老實說，我也覺得沒有必要。畢竟語言的目的是溝通，把那麼多訊息壓縮在一起，最後沒有幾個人搞得懂因果關係。英文寫作我認為最重要的是邏輯，許多人覺得英文寫作困難，往往不是因為英文不夠好，而是誤以為自己是神，一下筆就能行雲流水，又不是李白再世，沒有清楚的邏輯，不管寫哪一國語文應該都寫不好的啦！

舉個例子：Promoting Adjustable Rate Mortgages and Flexible Base Rates
